On 31st August we were delighted to receive our new IB students in school for an induction morning. Both Diploma and Career-related Programme students participated in team building activities, explored the IB Learner Profile attributes and what they mean in practice, met their form tutors and were taken through general expectations for behaviour and academic standards.

The Y12 students have made a brilliant start to the year, both socially and academically. They are engaged in their subjects and already challenging their teachers! This term, all students will learn about academic integrity, citing and referencing with Ms Delmet and Mrs Mason in order to prepare them for the challenge of the Extended Essay or the Reflective Project. They have started Duke of Edinburgh sessions which they will be able to use as part of their ongoing CAS projects and are questioning their perception of knowledge with Mr Prosser and Mr Boden in TOK.

The EU Business school visited our Y12 IBCP students to talk them through their exciting new Business course. The students will visit the EU Barcelona campus very soon.

Our Upper Sixth form students have come back ready to tackle this most important year. They are finalising their Extended Essays and getting ready to complete the various IB Internal Assessments coming up over the next months. On Monday we will issue students with a clear deadlines calendar to help them manage their time. We have introduced an extra assessment week starting on October 17th to check progress and support with the issue of predicted grades.

Our IB students now have a wonderful, new space for quiet study and relaxation and are using it wisely.

Important dates

Lanterna Education will visit BCG to talk to all Sixth Form students and their parents about the IBDP. Invitations will be sent out shortly.

We will invite Y12 and Y13 parents to come in and talk to subject teachers on 2nd November
